Week 9 (25/10/2022)

This week, Mr Razif teach us knowledge regarding the type of mic. 

I learnt that there are two main type of mics, which are dynamic and condenser mics. Dynamic mic is often used in stage and live performances. It is extremely tough and durable. According to Mr Razif, even the performer threw the mic on the floor, the mic can still be picked up and continue to perform without any issue. Meanwhile condenser mic are typically used in studio. They are very sensitive and fragile. If we drop the condenser mic, there are high chances that it will no longer be able to used anymore. It is also not recommended for us to blow into condenser mic.


The other main take away from the class is that there are different voice pattern for each microphones. Different voice pattern will affect the sound receiving in front, side, and back.



Finally, Mr Razif assigned us to pick any script, and do a home recording with phone. The recording must not use or apply any voice reduction technique.The aim is to find out the standard of our best possible recording without going through any type of processing.
