Task assigned / Instruction

Based on our Game Design Proposal previously, we were asked to create the prototype of our game. The prototype doesn’t need to have the final art asset and the use of greyboxing is allowed. The focus of this task is to quickly test out the game mechanics and to troubleshoot any technical difficulties discovered during the development.

Week 10 (3/11/2022)

PROTOTYPE

Based on the previous proposal, I tried to code out all of the character's movement, enemy's behaviours, existence of hp for character and enemy, and briefly design the level. Mr Razif says everything looks good for now, and he say I might not necessarily need to focus on the boss behaviour, but rather focus on the stage layout itself.

Phase 1 of prototyping

Week 11 (8/11/2022)

While progressing with phase 2, I asked Mr Faizal, which is one of the director of an VorteXR (Extended Reality) Lab for some feedback towards my phase 1. He says my game is too straightforward, I didn't introduce and make the players to be familiar with the myths. So, I added the first stage to let the players to be more familiarized with how the myths behaves. Then, I also added some puzzle for stage 2. The remaining things to be done for this prototype is programming the behaviour of the boss. Which will be shown on phase 3 video.

Final Phase of prototyping

After programming the basic behaviour of the boss, and solve all the programming problem, this is my FINAL OUTPUT for Project 2: Game Prototype:

REFLECTION

Through this project, I've gained a better comprehension of the features in Unity Engine. I was grateful to Mr Razif and Mr Faizal, who assists me by providing feedback to my progress of the game. It really played a significant role in making my prototype to complete successfully. Besides, I also gained a lot of understanding regarding the C# codes and also how the GUI of Unity works. I learnt a lot while doing this project, and I'm looking forward to further improve my game!
